Service Description

The term "avuncular" pertains to an uncle, and an avuncular DNA test examines the genetic similarities between a child and a potential uncle or aunt to determine biological relatedness. These tests are often used when the alleged father cannot or will not participate in paternity testing. While it's common knowledge that individuals inherit half of their genes from each parent, it's less known that we also share half of our genes with siblings. Avuncular DNA testing compares paternal genetic markers between a child and their uncle or aunt to establish relatedness. A result indicating a 99% probability or higher of an aunt/uncle relationship is considered conclusive. NOTE: This test is not admissible in court. If you are in need of a legal test, please select it from our list of services.
